Hospitality
Hotel Taj Mahal Everest
The entrance court and public front of a hotel in Gaidakot, on the Narayangadh corridor.
Gaidakot sits on the east–west highway, where a hotel takes both overnight road traffic and local functions. The front has to say which it is from the road.
The design works on the approach: the entrance is lifted a short flight above the forecourt and split around a planted water court, so arriving is a short walk past water rather than a step off tarmac. Balconies on the upper floor are planted continuously, which shades the rooms behind them and gives the elevation something other than render to look at.
