Godawari Forest Hotel
A hotel stepped into the forest edge at Godawari, with every guest floor terraced back towards the tree line.
Godawari still has canopy, which is why people drive out to it. A hotel here can either clear a pad and sit on it, or accept the slope.
The building steps: each floor is set back from the one below, so the mass reads as terraces against the hillside rather than a single block, and every room gets an open terrace facing the trees. The public ground is held below the guest floors and the site is retained in stone, with the approach and parking kept down at road level so the arrival is a walk up into the forest rather than a car park with a view.
