Vegan café and restaurant

A daylit café and restaurant in Kamalpokhari, planned to change use between breakfast and dinner.

The room is long, has windows on one side, and has to serve coffee at nine and dinner at eight. Anything fixed in the middle of it would kill one of those.

So the service is pushed to a single timber-fronted counter down one edge, and the floor is left loose: a communal table under the windows, small tables that pair up, and a banquette along the back. A chequered floor gives the room a datum, and low pendants over the counter mark the service line without dividing the space.
